The present is a cordial invitation to participate in the creation of a book paying homage to Miguel Hernández with the purpose of commemorating and joining the activities surrounding the centennial of his birth. The book, which will be co-edited by Elvia Ardalani and Aitor Larrabide, shall consist of a collection of academic articles and essays based on the topics listed below. The book will be published jointly by the Miguel Hernández Cultural Foundation and University of Texas-Pan American Press.
Submissions should be no more than 24 pages in length and no less than 12 pages, in MLA format. These should be written in Spanish. If you wish to submit your article for consideration, please send it in MSWord format to Eardalania@utpa.edu. Only a select number of articles shall be selected based on their quality and how well these respond to the pre-established prompts. In addition to the article submission, please submit a brief bio. Deadline: August 8, 2010.

-Ramifications of Hernández’s poetry in the social struggles of Latin America
-Hernández’s Poetry and the Dictatorships of Latin America
-Hernández’s Influence on the Poets of Latin America
-The Poetry of Miguel Hernández through the Lens of Cultural Studies
-The Work of Miguel Hernández and the Spanish Exiles in Latin America
-Approximations of American [U.S.] Literary Criticism on Hernández’s Work
Spanish invitation:
Por medio de la presente se extiende una cordial invitación a participar en un libro-homenaje a Miguel Hernández con motivo de las actividades del centenario de su nacimiento. El libro, coeditado por Elvia Ardalani y Aitor Larrabide, consistirá en una colección de artículos académicos en torno a los temas sugeridos más adelante. El libro será coeditado entre la Fundación Cultural Miguel Hernández y la editorial universitaria UT-Pan American Press.
Los artículos deberán tener un máximo de veinticinco páginas a doble espacio, formato MLA, y un mínimo de doce. Deberán estar escritos en español. Si desea someter su artículo para revisión, favor de enviarlo en formato Word a Eardalania@utpa.edu. Se elegirá un número limitado de artículos siempre y cuando su calidad lo amerite. Favor de enviar junto con el artículo una pequeña biobibliografía de su autor. Fecha Tope: 8 de agosto de 2010.

-La poesía de MH desde la óptica de los estudios culturales
-La obra hernandiana y los exiliados españoles en latinoamérica
-Aproximaciones de la crítica estadounidense a la obra hernandiana

Me enorgullece que se esté elaborando un libro - homenaje sobre Miguel Hernández.
